CPU and TURING MACHINES

In the last class of Informatics in our school, they gave us the assigment of looking three different videos.Two about Turing Machines and how this ones work and the other one how a CPU works.If you want to see the first Turing Machine video click here! This one is a little bit easier to understand but if you already understand it amd want to know a little bit more click here to see the second video.
The third video is about the CPU and if you want to see it click here!
I know these can be a little bit difficult to undestand at the first time but if you pay attention and make note you will get it, and if you don`t this post is for you! I will be explaining you here how the Turing Machine and the CPU works in very short and easy terms that I took from the videos and explained it with my own words introduced in a mindmap with the app Mindomo.
I will be also responding to the question formulated by our teacher that is the following:
Can you find a couple of Turing-machine-like structures in a V Neumann architecture?

First of all you will have to understand what the "Von Neumann Architecture" is.
For this I found a very cool video on YouTube that explains the topic very well.The video is made by Engineers Minute and they have really great videos so make sure to check them out.If you want to se the video about Von Neumann Architecture click here.

Lets start with the question.
After watching the video I realized that the Von Neumann Architecture is just some of the topics that are explained up there, all together!
These are:
Input-Output
Output unit
ALU
Control Unit
Memory Unit

So for me, it has a lot in common with the Turing Machine.
If you saw the video you may have noticed that it also works with binary digits, and it also gets an Input and gives us an Output.

We have something new that is that it works together with the CPU and the Memory.This is something that the Turing Machine doesnt do.

To end, from my point of view, the Von Neumann Architecture and the Turing Machine have a lot in common and you can find lots of this from the Turing Machine in Von Neumann Architecture.

Not so long ago, I watched two videos about how a Turing Machine works and how a CPU works. I found the videos pretty interesting and wanted to share with you the similarities between them. To explain it all in a more organized way, I made with my partner a mindmap with all the concepts and similarities between those two. So,I'll leave you the mindmap down below this blog with the both links to the videos included. Once I have finished explaining both concepts in the mindmap, I will be happy to answer the question I wrote in the title.

As you can see the turing mchine and the CPU work both with the 1 and 0 coded form. Other pretty interesting similaritie is that both receive and send information.But when the turing machine does the sending and recieving thing it creates an input and output, in the V.Neumann instead it´s all been made by the ALU.

Two explaining the meaning and function of the Turing Machine an one explaining how a CPU (Central Processing Unit) works and also talks about the Von Neumann architecture. At the end of the post I am going to put the links below so you can watch the videos if you have any doubts. After watching both videos, we had to do a mindmap explaining the concepts of Turing machines and V. Neumann architecture which I will show you also down below. But first of all you should know that the Turing Machine is only a theory and it does not exist but it is used in the CPU.

Recently, I have seen a video about the funtioning of Turing Machines and how a CPU ( Central Processing Unit) works. I can tell, that both videos were very interesting and I wanted to know, if there were structures of the Turing Machines that work as building blocks for the V. Neumann structure. Down I will leave a link to both videos so you can watch them if you are interested. After watching both videos, I created a mindmap explaining the concepts of Turing machines and V. Neumann architecture which I will show you down below. Next to that and last, I will answer the question that is in the title: Can you find a couple of Turing-machine-like structures in a V. Similarities
As you can see, both use an algorithm with 1 and 0. Also, both receive and send data with inputs and outputs. In the turing machine, this creates an input and output. The V. Neumann structure does it with the ALU.

But if you see from another point of view, The V. Neumann uses the theory of Turing Machines to solve problems or answer questions.

One similarity between V. Neumann architecture and Turing Machines is that both use the binary system of 1s and 0s. The Von Neumann architecture uses the Turing machine system by processing information in a coded form (1s and 0s).

Turing machine:
Another resemblance between them is the basic concept of having inputs and outputs that are also activated by wires inside the computer. After recieving the input, the processing unit processes or changes the code and gives an output.

Getting to the point we could say again that the Turing Machine is a concept that does not exist physically but that is used for the systems nowadays like the Von Neumann architecture, so we could say that the Turing machine was a door that opened to the world the possibility to create more and more better computers.

Von Neumann architecture and Turing machines

Hi everyone! Today I´m writing about the Von Neumann architecture and about the Turing machine. These two are very similar concepts, but one of the biggest diferences between them would be that te Turing machine is a hypothetical concept. The Von Neumann architecture is an actuall, physical thing. To make it easyer, I will put it like this: the Turing machine is part of the software that uses the hardware V. Neumann architecture. On the other hand, they are also very similar. They both do the same function (prossesin information) based in the same structure (input, then prosses and at the end, output) and using the same code [uses binary (0 and 1) bits].

Turing Machine and CPU similarities

Hi, there, we meet again. Today I'm going to talk about the Turing Machine concept and the V-Newmann architecture on CPU's as well as showing some similarities between both. This project is born from some videos that we saw in the informatics class, the first video talking about Turing machines, thesame as the second video, and the third video explaining the basic concepts of a CPU.
The whole work is an assignment from school, where the class pupils have to individually write a post about the topics I mencioned earlier, this post with information that we earlier wrote on a document in groups. The whole job is about understanding the essence of computation.

What are the similarities between the Turing Machine and the CPU?

First, let's start with the obvious: Both use binary. CPU's use it when they send input or recieve output from RAM, when they work together with the ALU and the CPU Buzz, everything is done with ones and ceros. So is it with the concept of the Turing Machine. These machines also recieve data and produce an output in forms of ones and ceros.

Another similarity between both is that they both have parts that recieve data and do something with it. In the case of the Turing Machine, it becomes an input and creates an output. The CPU does that between the different components inside of it like the ALU, The Control Unit and the CPU Buzz, and with components outside of it like for example the RAM.

But I think it all comes down to one majour point: Rather than having similarities, I would say that one of them is backed in the other, in this case, the idea of the Turing Machine is used to solve problems in the V. Newmann CPU. This piece of hardware uses the Turing system to comunicate between components and RAM, between others. The Control Unit, the ALU, the CPU Buzz, the RAM and other components send/recieve inputs and/or recieve/sends outputs, based on the Turing Machine, use binary, like the Turing Machine, and are based on the idea of a read/write head that changes numbers on the infinitly long tape.
